![]() ![]() After the quest Mission From the Warchief, you're introduced to the mission table, which will allow you to begin sending followers you gain through your adventures out to carry out missions.Īccess to Footholds will become available as you level through Zuldazar, Nazmir, and Vol’dun. Your first quest is The War Campaign, which introduces you to War Resources. Hopefully this explains the sudden transition from "we helped the Kul Tirans" to "We're going to Zandalar because Horde or something?".At level 110 and after you’ve completed the opening quest lines of Battle for Azeroth, you're introduced to the new War Campaign and begin the road to opening new Footholds over time in the opposite faction’s territories. Naval superiority will be necessary to win this war. They won the battle, but Warchief of the Horde, Sylvanas Windrunner, detonated blight bombs hidden below the city, making the remnants of the city and all the territory around it an uninhabitable wasteland.Īt this point, the Alliance and Horde are at war once again, and you are sent with Jaina Proudmoore to her homeland of Kul Tiras with the hope of convincing them to join the Alliance once more, as their navy will prove invaluable in trying to defeat the Horde, who are now largely across the sea. ![]() In response, the Alliance attacked the home of the undead known as the Forsaken, the ruins of Lordaeron. When their plan went a little awry, they decided to burn it to the ground instead, killing thousands of civilians. The Horde decided to invade Night Elven territory and capture their capital city atop the great world tree Teldrassil. Two bits of plot which are essential to understanding what happens next are not shown to you on the way into BfA for reasons unknown, and one was removed from the game entirely with the BfA pre-patch. Your people have just defeated the Burning Legion, working with your historic enemies, the Horde. You are part of the Grand Alliance, one of the two great factions of Azeroth. So what you're missing is the big picture. I love the story that is being presented, and I'd love to experience it more but it seems like an extremely long grind, for just a small whiff of the story. So I 'spose my question after all this is what exactly am I supposed to be doing? Do I really have to do every single quest I can find to progress the wider story? If that's the case, I'm not sure this game is for me. I believe the last quest that felt relevant to the plot was 'A New Dawn', right at the end of the Stormsong Valley questline I've begun to do any and all side quests I can find in Kul Tiras, recently doing the storyline in Falconhurst, which netted me an achievement that seemed like it was finally heading the way of actually continuing the story with Jaina and co. Trying to Google what to do next is almost impossible, not knowing exactly what quest I did last and references to stuff I have no clue about. Did all the story quests for those zones too (Nazmir, Zuldazar, Vol'Dun) and yet still there doesn't seem to be any way to progress the story in Kul Tiras. I thought it was quite the whiplash in terms of story, seemingly completely abandoning Kul Tiras but I carried on anyway. I asked in Newcomer Chat about what the next steps were, and was directed to the alliance war quests on the nearby boat. Taelia and the rest of the crew having nothing else to say or do. However, it seems like the storyline just completely drops off there. I have completed each dungeon related to those zones, in what felt like a pretty conclusive end to their respective arcs. Currently I'm questing around Kul Tiras, after what I assumed was the end of each three zones stories (Tiragarde Sound, Drustvar, and Stormsong Valley). I get even more confused than I was before. I'm finding it very difficult to follow the storyline, and every time I ask in Newcomer Chat or even just Google it. At the time of writing, I'm currently level 45. Assuming it's Battle of Azeroth based on achievements and such, but I've never been told it explicitly. Pretty much just following what appeared to be the main questline. Hey, I just picked up the game a couple days ago. ![]()
